Academic/Intellectual Formation at SAHESEMU

Brief

Our Seminary is committed to providing Seminarians at ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels with a holistic education, equipping them with the knowledge and necessary skills for their future Priestly ministry.
The Staff of 11 Priests, 29 Lay- Teachers, a science- lab Technician and a Secretary, has for the past years offered commendable sacrifice to our academic excellence. Our Academic-Crew has ably braved through the Old (S.4, S.5 & S.6) and New (S.1, S.2 & S.3) Curricula. Recently, our best Seminarians scored 10 Aggregates and 18 points in UNEB 2022 UCE and UACE Examinations respectively.

OUR U.A.C.E RESULTS FOR THE YEAR 2023

In the realm of education, there exist pivotal moments that warrant acknowledgment and celebration. Among these, the outstanding performance of our students in their recent examinations stands as a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and intellectual prowess. It is with great joy and pride that we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every student who has demonstrated excellence in their academic endeavors.

The achievements of our students in the examinations reflect not only their individual efforts but also the collective support and guidance provided by our esteemed faculty, staff, and the broader school community. Together, we have fostered an environment that nurtures curiosity, cultivates critical thinking, and encourages a relentless pursuit of knowledge. The results we see today are a testament to the collaborative spirit that defines our educational institution.

Beyond mere grades and scores, the success of our students speaks volumes about their character, resilience, and determination. In the face of challenges and uncertainties, they have exhibited unwavering commitment to their studies, displaying a commendable level of maturity and self-discipline. Their accomplishments serve as an inspiration to their peers and a source of encouragement for those who aspire to follow in their footsteps.

We emphasize the importance of time management and the need to strike a balance between academic obligations and other areas of formation. Monday through Friday, classes run from 7am to 6:50pm. Sometimes Seminarians’ prep-time from 8:50pm to 11pm is interrupted with lessons by part-timing/visiting Teachers.

Cognizant of the fact that learning is not merely an individual pursuit but a communal effort that thrives in an environment of shared knowledge and mutual support, Teachers foster a spirit of collaboration and camaraderie among learners. We thus engage them in fruitful discussions and forming study groups to support one another in their academic endeavours. Further, the Seminary Administration has stocked our Library with a vast collection of Teachers’ and Learners’ booklets to enrich our intellectual understanding and classroom notes. Teachers and Seminarians, Candidates in particular, often attend seminars/workshops, field-trips/tours and host guest lecturers/facilitators to broaden our knowledge and gain new perspectives.

I am confident that together, we shall continue to uphold the high standards of academic excellence for which our Seminary is renowned.

God’s grace and wisdom is always with us while PROVING OUR WORTH.
